Intellectual Property
Considering the importance of intellectual property and technology
(including e-commerce) to the aviation industry, we believe
the Firm can add value to clients through
our support in both contentious and non-contentious issues. The
application for protected trademarks and other non-technical
intellectual property rights (including Internet domains), as
well as their defense before courts and national, Canadian and
international registration offices is part of our daily
practice. We are also able to provide support in the
development of technologies and multi-media services such as
e-commerce (including on-line booking, payment and e-tickets).
We represent manufacturers and distributors of aerospace
technologies and services in the registration and protection
of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret rights, the
licensing of those rights, and the commercialization of aerospace
technologies. Representation ranges from advising both domestic
and foreign companies prior to development and use of a mark, to
registration with the Canadian Patent and Trademark Office,
protection of marks abroad, and trademark litigation. We refer
specific patent questions to outside expert counsel, whether in
Canada or the United States.
